I wonder when I will have a style and/or technique that is all my own when I paint. Does it happen when you really love the type of work you are doing? Last week I started a landscape class at the Attleboro Arts Museum. This is going to be challenging…we are working on large canvases. This is a first for me…and I will be using acrylics. In the meantime I painted a few small items…a bowl of lemons, a tree, and a bit of flowers from my still alive bouquet…quite surprising it has lasted this long.
A lovely bouquet of flowers will brighten even the darkest of days. It’s rainy and raw here in New England today. If it had been colder I’m sure we would have a foot of snow at least. I’ve posted three views of this basket of flowers…can’t decide which view I like best. Thank you Steve for the thoughtful gift. I will try to paint them, although I find flowers difficult to sketch.
Well I made an attempt to paint my cat Reeses. We adopted her about 2 years ago from the Attleboro Animal Shelter. She has the coloring of a peanut butter cup. She is the noisiest cat; always complaining about something. The only time she is quiet is when she is chewing on my fingers or digging her claws into my lap as she does her ‘kneading.’ As you can see, I need more practice sketching cats. I can only get better right?
