I am reading this very interesting book for a book club. I found it ironic that there is mention of Alfred Stieglitz, a photographer that I chose to emulate for a digital photography class. Before this I had never heard of him, but knew that Georgia O’Keefe’s husband was a photographer, just never knew his name. OK maybe it’s just strange to me.
farm equipment from my area
I recently attended a five week class on digital photography. We shot all pictures with manual settings and then used Photoshop to enhance the images. I didn’t get a chance to play around with filters during class, but now I decided to add filters to my “old farm equipment theme.” Here are the first two images; an old truck that I’ve admired for years and finally got to shoot close up, and a local farmer adding something to the soil on a sunny summer day. I used the oil painting filter for these two. The sky in the truck photo was washed out (a hazy day, late afternoon w/o clouds) so I changed it to a lavender cast that I liked with the yellow of the old truck. More to come.
